MFI has a lengthy history in display applications, from custom open frame CRT monitors for POS and medical applications, to some of the first touch monitors designed into postal sorting systems and public information stations in the early ’90s.
Our experience with flat panel devices goes back to the development of power converters for alphanumeric and graphic plasma displays, converters for vacuum fluorescent displays, and inverters for electroluminescent lamps. MFI was among the first representative companies to offer commercially available thin-film electroluminescent displays (TFELs), as well as the contrast enhancing polarizing filters to go with them.
Our principals were among the first manufacturers to offer graphical Color Super-Twist Nematic (CSTN) LCDs, prior to the introduction of Thin Film Transistor (active matrix TFT) displays. Today, MFI offers TFT LCDs and LCD monitors, with and without touch input devices, for medical, industrial, military, POS, POP, signature capture and other applications. We also offer fiber optic products to transmit video and data securely, as well as to provide low noise interconnects in electronic equipment, such as copy machines, wide body scanners and printer-plotters.
